Customer care and community dedication drive Kohll’s Rx.
In 1948, Louis and Leona Kohll opened a small pharmacy in Omaha, Nebraska, at Leavenworth Street and Park Avenue. Unable to afford employees, the couple managed to keep the store open from early morning until late night seven days a week, depending on their teenage son, Marvin, to deliver prescriptions and run other errands. The Kohll family soon earned the trust and confidence of Omaha physicians and their patients. Personal service and dedication to the health needs of Omaha and vicinity became the hallmark of the pharmacy.
The Kohll Family is in its Third and Fourth Generation
Kohll’s Rx is a substantially larger and much different endeavor as it observes more than 75 years of dedicated service to thousands of people. We currently have five retail pharmacy locations and a Long Term Care Pharmacy specializing in serving Assisted Living Facilities, Skilled Living Facilities and Group Homes / SLPs for Developmentally Disabled in Nebraska and Iowa. We offer convenient and reliable service with a total of approximately 150 employees.
Kohll’s Rx only employs the best medical professionals. You are in good hands with our team of professional pharmacists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and other health therapists who provide daily patient care and expertise.
We also have a home modification construction division, an auto dealership specializing in wheelchair vans, a mobility division providing all types of power and manual wheelchairs, a customer care division specializing in direct-to-your-door supply shipments—and much more, all designed to serve our community.
Meet the Owners
Anna Kohll
Co-Owner and Pharmacist
Anna Kohll is a third-generation co-owner of Kohll’s Rx and a licensed pharmacist dedicated to advancing accessible, patient-centered healthcare. A graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Anna has played a key role in expanding Kohll’s specialties, including fertility medications, long-term care pharmacy services, and community vaccination programs.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Anna helped lead Kohll’s efforts to prioritize vulnerable patients, ensuring thousands of Nebraskans, including individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers, received timely vaccinations. Her commitment to thoughtful, compassionate care reflects the values on which Kohll’s Rx was founded in 1948.
Today, Anna continues to guide the growth and modernization of Kohll’s Rx, supporting innovations in pharmacy services, home medical equipment, and patient outreach. She is passionate about strengthening community health and ensuring every patient receives the support, clarity, and compassion they deserve.
David Kohll
Pharmacist, Kohll’s Rx
David Kohll is a third-generation leader and President of Kohll’s Rx, carrying forward a family legacy of community-centered pharmacy care that began in 1948.
A licensed pharmacist, David combines deep industry knowledge with a commitment to holistic and compassionate service, guiding Kohll’s evolution from a single neighborhood pharmacy into a comprehensive health-care provider. Under his leadership, Kohll’s Rx has expanded beyond traditional prescriptions to offer long-term care pharmacy services, home medical equipment, mobility solutions, in-home care, vaccinations, specialty medications, and coordinated care for individuals with complex health needs.
David champions a “customer-first” philosophy: he often emphasizes that satisfying patient needs and improving quality of life are the core motivators behind his work. As he once put it, “taking care of patients… working with our health-care team to come up with a solution and to know that we made a difference” is what drives him every day.
Under David’s stewardship, Kohll’s Rx has remained independent and family-owned by focusing on personalized care, adaptability, and breadth of services. His leadership continues to reinforce the company’s founding values: honesty, follow-through, respect, and dedication to community health.
Max Kohll
Co-Owner and Marketing Director, Kohll’s Rx
Max Kohll serves as a Co-Owner of Kohll’s Rx, representing the fourth generation of leadership within the Kohll family’s long-standing commitment to healthcare and community service. Growing up around the business, Max developed a deep appreciation for customer care, innovation, and the mission-driven culture that has defined Kohll’s Rx since 1948.
In his role, Max oversees strategic marketing, brand development, and cross-division collaboration across Kohll’s many service lines. He plays a key role in shaping the company’s public presence, expanding community partnerships, and ensuring that Kohll’s continues to offer modern, accessible solutions that improve quality of life for customers throughout Nebraska and the surrounding region.
Max is particularly passionate about helping families and individuals stay independent, mobile, and safe in their homes. His work often bridges the operational and creative sides of the business, driving new initiatives in digital outreach, educational events, accessibility programs, and caregiver support.
Outside the business, Max is a professional triathlete competing in the IRONMAN Pro Series. The discipline, resilience, and performance mindset he brings from elite athletics translate directly into his leadership and customer-focused approach at Kohll’s Rx.
Whether he’s working with healthcare partners, supporting the Kohll’s team, or helping expand the company’s reach, Max is dedicated to honoring the family legacy while pushing Kohll’s Rx toward its next chapter of growth, innovation, and service.
