ACIP approved the following recommendations by majority vote at its October 23-24, 2024 meeting.
ACIP recommends a pneumococcal (pneumonia) vaccination for all adults 50 years old and older. Previously it was 65 years old and older.
At a minimum, you should wait at least 2 months between doses.
ACIP recommends MenB-4C (Bexsero®) (meningitis vaccine) be administered as a 2-dose series at 0 and 6 months when given to healthy adolescents and young adults aged 16–23 years based on shared clinical decision-making for the prevention of serogroup B meningococcal disease.
Previous meningitis vaccine recommendation was a 2-dose series at 0 and 1 month.
ACIP recommends vaccination* with the 2-dose§ JYNNEOS vaccine series for persons aged 18 years and older at risk for mpox.
*This is an interim recommendation that ACIP will revisit in 2-3 years.
